Burbank Airport
Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport has a rich history starting in 1930 when it was called United Airport. During World War II, Lockheed purchased the airport where B-17s and P-38s rolled off their assembly lines and onto the runways. Today the airport caters to passenger airlines and is a welcome alternative to the overly busy Los Angeles International Airport. Flying out of Burbank is like going back in time to the golden age of air travel (with the exception of the security check points). You drive right up to the front of the terminal where you hand your car over to a valet then board your flight by walking out onto the apron and up the stairs to the aircrafts door. When you return to Burbank your car is washed and waiting for you as you exit the terminal.
