California State Parks Communications Operators operate multi-frequency/channel radio systems, law enforcement telecommunications systems (CLETS), computer terminals, and associated equipment. They respond to telephone inquires, dispatch mobile law enforcement/emergency response units to specified points, request emergency services as requested or required by field personnel and respond to other law enforcement, resource and emergency response agencies.

All of the major Centers are 24-hour, full-access Centers. They are centralized Centers providing dispatch service to Peace Officers and Resource Personnel in multi-county service areas.

Ventura Sector
The California State Lifeguards of Ventura use the neighboring agencies to assist with a lot of calls. The main mutual aid agency is the Ventura Harbor Patrol with three rescue equipped boats. The Ventura Sector has three life guard trucks (94 GMC pick up 4x4 with code 3 function). The beach consists of 11 lifeguard towers ranging from the marina to Emma Wood Beach as well as the Ventura Pier.
