| The Family Radio Service (FRS) is private, two-way, very short-distance voice communications service for facilitating family and group activities. The Family Radio Service was adopted on May 10th, 1996 and was authorized in July of 96'. It uses FM with a peak deviation of +/- 2.5 kHz. Maximum power is .5 Watt. Note: Channels 1 through 7 are shared with GMRS. |
