Immediate triage area Patients who are taken to the Immediate triage area, color coded with a red tarp, have life threatening conditions.	Sheriff’s Platoon Ventura County Sheriff’s were called in to secure the scene to keep people away from the hazardous area, to secure the crime scene and to provide protection to the public-safety personnel.
Making a plan Law enforcement creates a plan to set up a perimeter around the scene.	Perimeter Armed Sheriff Deputies stand on the scene perimeter.

Perimeter duty Sheriff Deputy stands guard with an automatic rifle.	Oxnard engine arrives on scene Each of the Ventura County fire departments, including Federal, participated in the drill.
Ambulances Gold Coast and AMR ambulances participate in the exercise. An AMR ambulance was also on duty to provide real-world medical aid, which was needed when a firefighter got just a little too hot.	41 Several local fire apparatus were on scene including Paramedic and Engine 41.
Transport The patients are stabilized for transport and loaded into ambulances.	Code-3 AMR and Gold Coast ambulances rush the patients to the hospital.
