A "black helicopter"? Now we know who's really is behind reports of secretive black helicopters. This one, a Cobra attack helicopter, is owned by a private individual who had painted it flat black.

ELT (Emergency Locator Transmitter). In the event of a crash this small box will be jarred enough to break a connection inside thus initiating the distinct radio broadcast on 121.5 MHz. Rescuers can use radio location techniques to pin point the location of the distressed helicopter.

This is a Sea Hawk helicopter from the USS Nimitz. I had the opportunity to chat with a USMC Photographer here. Talk about a dream job.

This copter was especially neat to see at the show since just the day before I was on the USS Constellation, which is docked next to the USS Nimitz in San Diego.

This is the gear the FBI use when arresting the bad guys. The radios are standard Motorola radios. An agent demonstrated the encryption button and also informed me that they are in the process of switching over to digital (in the next few months).
