The Ronald Reagan Library hosted a Fire Fighter Appreciation Day event and the city of Simi Valley declared the week Fire Fighter Appreciation Week to show the peoples sincere appreciation to the firefighters who fought so hard to save life and property from the recent fires.

Fire Fighter Appreciation Day at the Reagan Library
The entrance to the Reagan Library was bumper to bumper fire apparatus. The skilled pilots of Copter 8 were able to land at an impromptu landing zone not much wider than the helicopter and in 40+ MPH winds.

Folk lore has it that when this engine was delivered to the Ventura County Fire Department there were brush fires in the county. The engine was immediately outfitted with hoses and put on the front lines. It’s a good story.

Fire Safety House
The Ventura County Fire Department has a trailer outfitted to resemble a house which is used to educate the public for fire safety. It’s also fun for the kids to dress up like a firefighter.

Thank You Firefighters
Girl Scout Troop #345 presented a gift to the firefighters which were promptly put up on display.
