The four
antennas in a box formation are for the lojack system. This copter also
has a flir and a moving map.
This is copter 2 with it's brand
new paint job (was painted three days ago). Copter 2 used to have an olive
drab primer like paint job.
VCSO will be taking delivery of two more UH1's later
this year. Both Huey's will have winches, water tanks and snorkels just
like Copter 7. They will be designated Copter 8 and Copter 9. Copter 9
will have duel engines and Copter 8 will be a Super Huey like Copter 7.
The copters are being outfitted right now (I think in Canada).
I'd like to thank the pilot "Greg" for taking
the time to answer all my questions.
This is the "L-Band" Motient
satellite systems using the Mitsubishi ST-211 & ST-111 radios which
provide telephone and push to talk. OES has 5 Talkgroups one of which they
refer to as "SKYMARS" and is available for all Public Safety
agencies with permission from OES Telecommunications.
Officer Rick
Morton and "Rex" demonstrating the ability of a K-9 to assist an
officer in trouble.
The suspect
breaks away from the officer and attacks!
'Here Rex .. Get the bad
guy!"
Rex taking a byte out of crime.
The "prisoner" is really a Simi Valley Police Officer who was
assisting with the demonstration. The Simi Valley K-9 team recently
attended a K-9 competition where they took many awards.
Truck 41
This is my wife, Karen, at the
tiller end of Truck 41. Truck 41 is probably one of the most used fire apparatus
in Simi Valley.
